Japan - New Alias For 2 Killers -
MSG And Aspartame

By Dr. Betty Martini, D.Hum
11-27-9
http://www.rense.com/general88/alias.htm

GMO Food Additives to be Introduced Without Full Safety Appraisal reads the announcement, but you'll have to read it 3 times to figure out what it says, which is essentially: Untested poisons being released by Ajinomoto.
They proclaim that food additives MSG and aspartame have been judged to be safe by the Expert Committee for Genetically Modified Foods.
Who judged the Expert Committee to be valid, and WHO PAYS THEM?
If GM foods need approval, then aspartame, which is produced by a genetically   modified process, has never been proven to be safe from the GM standpoint, and has been used for decades without GM approval. In fact, aspartame itself has never been proven to be safe.
The FDA Board of Inquiry revoked the petition for approval awaiting the signature of FDA Commissioner, Dr. Jere Goyan.   FDA had tried to have the manufacturer, G. D. Searle, indicted for fraud.  Both US Prosecutors hired on with the defense team and the statute of limitations expired.
The mighty Don Rumsfeld, then CEO of the aspartame producer, G. D. Searle applied his Illinois style (Think grafting Governor Blagojevich) political muscle to put aspartame on the market.  He was on Reagan's transition team.   At 3AM of the night after Ronald Reagan's inauguration stalwart FDA Commissioner Dr. Jere Goyan was fired and Arthur Hayes was appointed the new FDA Commissioner.  .  Reagan wrote an executive order making the FDA powerless to do anything on aspartame until he got Hayes there.  Hayes then sprinkled holy water on aspartame after which time he got a sweet job in the aspartame biz.
Dr. Bill Deagle blew the whistle on how aspartame is genetically-engineered.  He said:
Most people when asked how Aspartame is made do not have the first step of understanding.  While an E.R. doctor and primary care physician in Augusta, GA in 1987 and 1988, I was told a number of interesting facts about the adjacent Aspartame factory. Bacteria with genes inserted generate a sludge which is centrifuged to remove the aspartame and many hundreds of contaminant organic and amino acids are present. We were told not to report illness or worker's compensation issues for fear of being fired by the hospital, now the Augusta Regional Medical Center. Many of their employees presented with psychiatric, neuropathy conditions, chronic fatigue and organic cases of loss of cognitive function. This powder from the dried sludge was then transported for packaging in factories elsewhere in the US, before sale as Equal and now the myriad of names of this neurotoxin."
So, over two decades ago aspartame was being genetically engineered.  Not only is aspartame genetically engineered, but FDA knew it was used as a placebo in pharma studies before it was approved.  That's illegal because placebos are suppose to be inert.   This deceit made MSG appear harmless. Both chemicals, monosodium glutamate and aspartame, are excitotoxic and  produce the identical pathologic reactions. So the manufacturer could report to FDA that MSG is safe as the placebo. That's a con mans game, one bad check for another! Neurosurgen Russell Blaylock, M.D. detailed the mutual toxicity of those chemicals in his book "Excitotoxins: The Taste That Kills".
Jack Samuels, Truth In Labeling Campaign President, reviewed FDA records of a study about amino acid supplements and found a 3/22/91 letter from Andrew G. Ebert, PhD, Chairman, International Glutamate Technical Committee , -a glutamate industry organization-in which Ebert admitted that aspartame had been used since at least l978 in test and placebo materials that his organization provided to scientists who study the safety of MSG.
Some subjects reacted to both MSG and the placebo, so the researchers concluded MSG is just as safe as the placebo and any reactions had nothing to do with MSG. The reactions were ignored, and MSG got a pass.
If you compared arsenic to strychnine you could decide theyre equally safe. Just ignore the dead bodies!  After Jack Samuels publicized this fraud the Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology in its July 1993 report on the safety of MSG in food, concluded that aspartame, as a placebo is inappropriate.
With this admission that aspartame was used as the placebo in MSG studies since 1978, all studies showing the safety of MSG because of this can no longer be considered valid, and should be thrown out. Any future studies should be done by independent scientists since fraud has been established.    Furthermore, aspartame was not approved until 1981 so if you put this in prospective, they are guilty of using a product without FDA approval, but with their knowledge.   Even at the time this was found FDA did nothing and made no issue of it so it could be swept under the table, and hopefully forgotten.  Not even a slap on the wrist.  Is this practice continuing?
Since aspartame was marketed the FDA lets aspartame makers do what they want. This is the same FDA that once asked the Department of Justice to prosecute the NutraSweet manufacture for submitting fraudulent tests,   The article below reveals:
"That was why the Food Safety Commission has published a Directive for safety assessment of food additives which are produced using genetically modified micro-organisms and which are highly refined and have non-protein characteristics, including amino acids . and which are produced using genetically modified micro--organisms".
Ajinomoto will never reveal how they brew the witches potion; if they did you'd avoid it like the plague!
Its now known planet wide how deadly aspartame is, and the  manufacturers know their days are numbered, so Ajinomoto has written they will change the name of aspartame to AminoSweet. Think A MEAN SWEET. MSG's bad name is also now concealed under descriptions like hydrolyzed vegetable protein, yeast, malt flavoring, yeast extract, textured protein, etc.
They invent multiple ways to deceive. Stuart Pape, head of the National Yogurt Assn, petitioned the FDA to allow aspartame, unlabeled, in yogurt and dairy products. This is clearly against the law, which requires a PKU warning to protect phenylketonurics from the possibly fatal reactions they experience from phenylalanine, 50% of aspartame. The dishonorable Pape once headed the National Soft Drink Assn. Read their powerful protest against aspartame in the 1985 Congressional Record.  Later the soda pop makers actually lobbied for the poison. http://www.mpwhi.com/open_letter_dick_adamson.htm
As to the labeling issue, the article discusses Tryptophan.  An informant told me the reason the 38 people died was that the product was marketed by a chemical company who genetically engineered the product and it was chock full of excitotoxins.  Had it been labeled genetically engineered no health food store would have bought the product and those victims would probably still be alive.  The whole point of this issue is that the manufacturers know if something is labeled GM the public wont buy it.  Since the population at large fights against genetically engineered foods and don't want anything to do with them, the only resource of the manufacturer is to use their influence with government agencies to make sure their product is not labeled to keep the public in the dark.  Otherwise, they couldn't sell their potion.
In 1999 I faxed to the Independent in the UK the formula on aspartame from the Miwon web site.  After being exposed the page came down but I had already printed it out and it clearly showed the bacteria genetically engineered.  It was not only published on the front page of the Independent but over the Royal Wedding. http://www.wnho.net/gmbacteria.htm
Monsanto came up with this excuse:   "A Monsanto spokeswoman confirmed that aspartame for the US market is often made using genetic engineering. But sweetener supplied to British food producers is not. However, consumer groups say it is likely that some low-calorie products containing genetically engineered aspartame have been imported into Britain."
Here is an excellent article on aspartame and its isolates: http://www.wnho.net/aspartame_brain_damage.htm
The following article details how MSG and Aspartame will be labeled:
"In the current food-labeling legislation, the former would be labeled only as "amino acid and others" and would be used as a food additive in many foods.  The latter would be labeled only as aspartame, which is classified as an artificial sweetener. None of these will need to be labeled as GMO or otherwise identified as genetically modified under the current rules."
When a criminal changes names to hide his identity its called an alias.  Now you get the picture!  The aspartame industry should remember the words of Mohammed Ali, You can run but you cant hide.

GMO Food Additives To Be Introduced
Without Full Safety Appraisal
Will Be Labeled Only As Amino Acids And Other Things
From Consumer's Union Of Japan
On September 14, 2009, two new food additives from Ajinomoto were judged to be safe by the Expert Committee for Genetically Modified Food and Others at the Food Safety Commission (FSC). The appraisal was open for public comments and it seems likely that the two novel amino acids will be approved by the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Labour by the end of November. So far, several GMO food additives have been approved, but they were basically used for food processing, as in the case of enzymes like alpha amylase for improved productivity. There have been no cases of GMO food additives that are used directly as seasoning as is the case of amino acids. Thus, when Ajinomoto first submitted these GMO products, there were  no established method for safety appraisal.
That was why the Food Safety Commission has published a Directive for safety assessment of food additives which are produced using genetically modified micro-organisms and which are highly refined and have non-protein characteristics, including amino acids. (Many studies have verified that the process of genetic engineering can produce unpredicted toxins or allergens.)
The two GMO food additives FSC Expert Committee judged as safe are L-Glutamic Acid Sodium (GLU-No. 2 strain) and Aspartame-L-Fenylalanin PHA-No. 2 strain). In the current food-labeling legislation, the former would be labeled only as amino acid, and others and would be used as a
food additive in many foods. The latter would be labeled only as Aspartame which is classified as an artificial sweetener. None of these will need to be labeled as GMO or otherwise identified as genetically modified under the current rules. For what purpose is genetic engineering used in the production of these chemicals?
In the human gut, there are a number of different bacteria, including E Coli. These help to digest the protein we eat, be it fish or meat or other sources, by breaking them down to amino acids, making it possible for the body to absorb them from the intestine. At Ajinomoto Co., Inc. they figured out how to make use of this mechanism, using artificially cultured bacteria in large tanks. Presumably, by using GMO bacteria, they claim they can increase the productivity of the bacteria. However, for all of those who are thinking about food, this latest development for the purpose of improving production cannot be regarded as safe. Was there something wrong with the former production methods?
We remember the tryptophan affair when many people fell ill and some died due to the production methods, at a time when tryptophan was sold as a supplement. L-Tryptophan is also an amino acid that can be produced using bacteria. This incident was caused by Showa Denko Co. in 1988 and 1989 and most victims were Americans. 38 people died and more than 6,000 people fell ill. The cause was identified as several impurities, which were found only in the product made by Showa Denko. The harmful impurities had begun to appear when genetic engineering was introduced in the production process, and they had not been eliminated from the final mixture. It was shown that this was possibly the reason the final product had become so harmful to humans.
It is clear that consumers will be paying a high price for the lack of thorough examination of how and why the tryptophan incident happened. Before GMO food additives are approved, their safety must be carefully appraised. At the moment, the Food Safety Commission has not been able to convince us that this is the case.

<< Alternative-Medicine-Forum >> Re: what type Magnessium? High Blood Pressure

It is difficult to treat high blood pressure with oral magnesium. It is successfully treated with magnesium IVs and transdermal magnesium but I have never read nor heard of oral magnesium being used alone to treat high blood pressure. The reason magnesium is used in high doses to treat health conditions and oral is not absorbed vrey well. First of all you need to know how much "elemental" magnesium is in the oral magnesium supplements - high quality supplements will tell you how much elemental magnesium they contain. It usually seems to be about 1/5 of the total amount of mg. To give an example of how little elemental magnesium there is in a supplement -- my magnesium supplement is 600mg, but the amount of elemental magnesium is only 120mg. Elemental magnesium is the amount of magnesium that is available to be absorbed - this does not mnean however that you will be capable of absorbing it all. Oral magnesium has to in your digestive system for 24 hours to be absorbed and also because most people do not have perfect digestion these days, not very much is absorbed.

A study in 2001 indicated that magnesium oxide, an inexpensive magnesium complex included in popular dietary supplements could have a fractional absorption in the gut as small as 4 percent. If one was to ingest the commonly recommended (albeit modest) adult dosage of 300-400mg elemental magnesium per day, this would equate to a usable dosage of only 12-16mg. And yet, realistic absorption rates from oral magnesium supplements are rarely taken into account when dosages recommendations are given.

You would need about 1000mg to 1500 mg of elemental magnesium a day for magnesium therapy.. Transdermal is the least expensive as well as effective means of getting magnesium especially in any large amounts.

Ancient Minerals is a very clean pure product - pure enough to even be used internally. It also has a higher concentration of magnesium then more transdermal magnesium products.

But there are a growing number of doctors whom do treat high blood pressue with magnesium.

Re: {Herbal Remedies} glutamates.

Are you referring to the "Food Allergen Labeling and Consumer Protection Act of 2004" that went into effect January 1, 2006?

Having numerous allergies myself as well as all my kids, and pretty much all my extended family... it's my understanding that the laws apply to only the "top eight" most common food allergens... and there are still some loopholes to watch for if you are allergic to one or more of these.  ugh - we're more for fresh & local & raw and avoid commercially produced food items as much as possible - it's easier! ;-)

TOP EIGHT MOST COMMON FOOD ALLERGENS
Milk (dairy)
Eggs
Fish (e.g. bass, flounder, cod, etc)
Crustacean Shellfish (e.g. crab, lobster, shellfish)
Treenuts (e.g. almonds, walnuts, pecans)
Peanuts
Wheat
Soybeans

So, MSG never made that list - and yet it's found listed on food labels in many ways: Food starch, gelatinized starch, modified food starch, vegetable starch, hydrolyzed vegetable protein, textured vegetable protein, monosodium glutamate, MSG (of course) to name a few.
One thing that MAY HELP as far as finding MSG "hidden" in a product is if it says it (may) contain WHEAT (listed in bold as possible allergen) and you don't see anything obviously a wheat component (e.g. wheat flour, wheat grain, whole grain, etc).  Most MSG is made from wheat proteins, but not all, so it escapes being lumped in with WHEAT ALLERGENS on a technicality.

Andee - novice herbalist, naturalist, and mom to many (all allergic to more than one food, combined, includes all top 8 and about 20 more!)
